I. Engine Parts

A. Engine Part: Engine Oil

In order to keep your fish in a healthy condition, the water of the fish tank must always be circulated and kept clean. However, since the water will gradually evaporate and the fish tank will get dirty, you will have to replace the water regularly.

Function of Engine Oil

The engine oil circulates inside the engine. It is indispensable to support a comfortable drive.

  1. It smoothens the movement of the engine, and prevents wear or
    rust.
  2. Disperses dirt inside the engine, and keeps it clean.
  3. Cools the heated engine.

What happens when continually used?

It will oxidize from the heat, and be become muddy and dirty by incorporation of carbon or metal powder generated during combustion.

Before facing trouble as these

Loses power.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

B. Engine Part: Oil Filter

Fried foods as Tempura and fried potatoes will be crispier when fried with clean oil. Strainers are used to remove crumbs from used cooking oil. When that strainer gets dirty and clogged, it will no longer fulfill its role as an oil strainer.

Function of Oil Filter

The inner filter paper will strain the engine oil, and remove dirt or impurities. It is very important to keep the engine oil clean and always maintain the engine in an excellent condition.

What happens when continually used?

Oil filter paper will be clogged with impurities such as soot, metal powder or dirt.

Before facing trouble as these

Acceleration becomes poor.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

C. Engine Part: Drive Belts

When you ride a bicycle, the pedaling power is transmitted to the wheels via the chain, and makes it move forward. If the chain that transmits the power breaks, no matter how much you pedal, the bike will not move forward.

Function of Drive Belts

Belts transmit power created by the engine to the Alternator, Air Conditioner, or Engine Cooling Fan, and supports to ensure the proper operation of each location.

What happens when continually used?

Belts will be heavily burdened for they are always transmitting power. Since belts are made of rubber, they are worn out by friction, and loosens or cracks when it becomes old.

Before facing trouble as these

Loses power.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

D. Engine Part: Coolant (LLC)

When you have a fever, what you need is an ice pack. It is the best thing to use in order to cool your fever. However after a while, the inner ice must be changed for it will get warm and lose its effect.

Function of Coolant (LLC)

Because the engine combusts gasoline and air, it is always at a high temperature. The LLC cooled by the radiator circulates around the engine therefore removing the engine’s heat, and preventing overheating.

What happens when continually used?

As it circulates, the engine’s heat gradually deteriorates the coolant.
It will decrease in volume and its function will deteriorate.

Before facing trouble as these

Water temperature gauge is pointing at high temperature.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

E. Engine Part: Air Filter

A mask protects your body from dusts or viruses, and helps to keep your body in a healthy condition.

Function of Air Filter

Vehicles run on power generated by the combustion of air-fuel mixture within the engine. The air filter removes the dust, and sends out clean air to the engine.

What happens when continually used?

It will get clogged with dirt and dust.

Before facing trouble as these

Low fuel economy.

If you don’t maintain.

F. Engine Part: A/T Fluid

Have you ever encountered the creaking or the heaviness of the door? In such a case, lubricate the hinges with oil. The oil will ease the friction and smoothen the opening-closing movement of door.

Function of Automatic Transmission Oil

Power generated from the engine is passed on to the wheels through the transmission to activate the vehicle. The four important roles of the AT fluid are: hydraulic pressure control, friction control, lubrication, and cooling.

What happens when continually used?

Oxidation due to the heat, or the friction from the parts will develop metal powder. Interfusion of these metal powder will then deteriorate the system.

Before facing trouble as these

The car makes shift shocks when the gear is changed.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

G. Engine Part: Battery

Due to the fully charged built-in battery in a cell phone, calls or e-mails can be sent. Batteries too will be worn out and lose power in due course, therefore it will need to be replaced.

Function of Battery

It stores power for engine starting or easy operation of electrical equipments such as power window, air conditioner, or the navigation system. Even when the engine is not rotating, it supplies electricity to lamps, audio, and navigation system.

What happens when continually used?

Storage ability decreases, or battery plates are damaged by over discharge or overcharge.

Before facing trouble as these

Engine start becomes slow.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

H. Engine Part: Spark Plug

An ignition device, which ignites gas by shooting sparks, is convenient for outdoor activities such as barbecues. If oil or smoke attaches to the ignition area, it becomes difficult to begin the fire.

Function of Spark Plug

Vehicles run on power generated by the combustion of air-fuel mixture within the engine. Spark plug begins the fire to ignite the fuel.

What happens when continually used?

It becomes oxidized by high temperature, and its ignition area will gradually wear out and round off. Then the clearance between spark electrodes will become larger causing spark discharge to diminish. Also, ignition area will be gradually dusted with carbon, and it will become increasingly difficult to begin the fire.

Before facing trouble as these

Acceleration becomes poor.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

II. Underbody Parts

A. Underbody Part: Tire

If you are wearing shoes with worn out soles, it is slippery and dangerous especially on rainy days. Wearing worn out shoes may also cause stress to your feet, and back. Therefore, in order to walk, shoes become very important. No matter how much you are attached to a pair of shoes, it is better to buy a new pair.

Function of Tire

Because there are tires, a vehicle can be driven, make turns, and stop at your own will. Tires also absorb impact from the road surface and ensure a comfortable ride.

What happens when continually used?

The tire will wear due to friction. Tires also deteriorate due to changes in air temperature, and are damaged by foreign objects.

Before facing trouble as these

Tires became vulnerable to skidding.

If you don’t maintain.

B. Underbody Part: Brake Pad

When playing rugby, players try to tackle the feet of opponents who are running the field in hyper speed in order to stop them. If the players are exhausted or injured, their tackling becomes careless and may loose the game. In such a case, players should be changed.

Function of Brake Pad

It transmits the power of brake to the tires and stops or decelerates the motion of the vehicle.

What happens when continually used?

Since every time the brake pedal is depressed, the pad is pressed against the disc rotor which is rotating simultaneously with the tire to stop the vehicle, the surface of the pad gradually wears off.

Before facing trouble as these

When the brake is applied, it squeaks.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

C. Underbody Part: Brake Fluid

Carrier pigeons carry messages to the receiver.
If the carrier pigeon becomes tired, it may cause a delay or disruption in delivery.

Function of Brake Fluid

This fluid transfers the brake pedal’s depressing force to the brake. The brake fluid plays an important roll as the nerves of the brakes, and thus is essential for braking applications.

What happens when continually used?

It will deteriorate from the moisture in the air or the friction heat of the brake pads.

Before facing trouble as these

Brake does not operate efficiently.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

III. Safety and Comfort Equipment Parts

A. Safety & Comfort Equipment Part: Clean Filter

Air cleaners take in the outside air through the filter inside the cleaner and removes dusts. Since dirty filters do not complete the functions of an air cleaner at all, it is important to always keep the filters clean.

Function of Clean Filter (Aircon Filter)

With the filter attached under the dashboard which removes “pollen”, “dust”, and further more “odor” from outside the vehicle, it decreases the activity of “allergens”, and therefore sustains the inner air comfortable.

What happens when continually used?

It will be clogged with dusts and pollens. If a deteriorated filter is continually used, it will reduce the performance of air conditioners.
This is the same as maintaining your room air conditioner in order to maintain its efficiency.

Before facing trouble as these

Air conditioner does not work efficiently.

If you don’t maintain.

When it gets worst.

B. Safety & Comfort Equipment Part: Wiper Blade

Function of Wiper Blade

The engine oil circulates inside the engine. It is indispensable to support a comfortable drive.
